Death Certificate of Francisca Gamboa, 1923

Below is the death certificate for Francisca Gamboa, daughter of Andres Gamboa and Francisca Gamboa. She died of unknown causes on 4 Sep 1923 in Edinburg, Texas at just 25 years old. Her mother Francisca Gamboa was the informant. Her husband was not named, but in 1930, a Teodoro Medina died in Hidalgo County, He was a widower, and his late wife’s name was given as Francisca Gamboa.

Teodoro was also born in San Fernando, Tamaulipas in Mexico, a town where Luis Gamboa (a son of Francisco, brother of Enocencio, and possibly father of Andres) is known to have lived and had children. Teodoro’s mother was named San Juana Gamboa, and her age (in the 1930 census of San Fernando) was right to be a daughter of Luis Gamboa and his wife Barbara Rodriguez. In other words, Teodoro would have been his wife Francisca’s first and second cousin.
