Rendon, Serda – Montemorelos Marriages

San Mateo, Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon
Marriages, Film # 0731032, Batch M601266

The following records were viewed on microfilm and transcribed by me in November 2007.

17 Oct 1735

NOTE: Manuela’s father’s name was not given as Rendon, but rather as Mandujano.

NOTE: No parents given for Manuel de los Reyes. Just two records before was the marriage for another Manuel de los Reyes, son of Bernarda de la Cruz and “padre no conosido.”

NOTE: The Ranch mentioned in the margin may have been the “Rancho de Don Ygnacio Andrada.” Three marriages took place on the same day and were listed in a row seemingly together, and the first of them was described as being for residents of that ranch.

12 Sep 1736

NOTE: I think that “de los Mohinos” refers to a ranch by that name.

09 Jun 1759

PADRINOS: A. ___io Vasquez, Maria Yrene

NOTE: It is assumed that Campechano is part of the Rendon surname, rather than a racial description. I have not seen it in any other record as either.

28 Jul 1759
MARGIN: “Joseph Manuel Gonzales y Maria Rendon

PADRINOS: Jos. Gonzales, Antonio de Ochoa

NOTE: Accd to my notes, the father’s name looks like Antonio, and probably is since an Antonio Rendon & Rosa Zamora had several children marry in Montemorelos around this time.

NOTE: Montemorelos was itself the Valle del Pilon, so possibly the record gives the name of another Valle as the bride’s birthplace.

28 Feb 1775

NOTE: Text was very light and difficult to read. Mistakes were possible.

NOTE: Another Serda marriage (for Ma. Bartola) immediately follows this one. That record is transcibed below.

28 Feb 1778

NOTE: I could not read his name, but the IGI gives the groom’s surname as Urtado.

NOTE: This record is on the same day and immediately follows the one for Francisco de la Serda. If I read correctly and they are originally from different cities (Salinas & Saltillo), then they may not be related at all.
